Funnybones Foodservice

Brand fantastico!

We’ve worked with Funnybones for eight years, having been appointed initially to refresh its appeal as the leading innovator and supplier of Tex-Mex foods to the UK restaurant and catering trade. At the heart of this work was uncovering exactly what Funnybones stood for and how best to communicate its offer and products in an increasingly competitive market.

Our in-depth knowledge of the foodservice industry has played a key role in shaping a new personality, tone of voice and graphic language for Funnybones. We brought much-needed unity to the business and raised aspirations with a new set of brand values – passion, taste, innovation and service. We reworked the existing logo adding humour and visual appeal, and created two new taglines to talk to differing audiences – ‘We Are Tex-Mex!’ to communicate Funnybones’ brand, product and market expertise to the foodservice industry, and ‘Passion, Taste, Innovation, Service’ to talk directly to the trade.

Since then, we have successfully implemented the rejuvenated brand identity across annual product brochures, new product photography, a new website, exhibition displays, trade promotions, marketing campaigns and staff apparel. More recently, we created a special logo and press advertising campaign for the business to promote its 30th anniversary and took the lead role in applying the rebrand to Funnybones’ fleet of vehicles, using them to proudly display the bold and bright proposition ‘We Are Tex-Mex!’.

Happy client

“We’ve worked with Nick and the team at Blackbird since 2012. The effect their work has had on our business, both in terms of financial return and increased sector profile, has been instrumental. For example, the marketing campaign they created for the 2016 IFE trade show helped generate an additional £500,000 turnover for the business and the rebrand they delivered has given us the image we’ve always wanted. I cannot recommend their talents enough.”
