The OLLIE Foundation

Helping save young lives

Established by parents who all lost teenagers to suicide, The OLLIE Foundation is an amazing charity dedicated to raising awareness of and preventing suicide amongst young people. We were proud to be asked to help improve the charity’s brand to enable it to better communicate its aims to an audience ranging from schools, students and young adults, to parents and professionals working with young people.

Being able to persuasively communicate what you offer is crucial. In the case of OLLIE, given the subject, we had to work sensitively whilst articulating a powerful message. Our answer was to create a stand out identity with a strong sense of individuality and grit. With the logo, we created something instantly recognisable. The hand drawn character of the font brings personality, the scrawled frame represents isolation and fear, and the orange tagline conveys OLLIE’s statement of intent, ‘One Life Lost Is Enough’. We created a comprehensive set of guidelines on how to convey the OLLIE brand using hard-hitting messages paired with visually arresting images, sourced both from real life and professional image libraries. They tell a human story and reflect OLLIE’s brand attributes – awareness, empathy, emotion, passion and achievement.

To date, we have designed information booklets, a fundraising pack, event banners and display materials, training posters, merchandise and staff apparel. We also provided page designs for the new website and art direction for the photography of OLLIE’s founders and new team portraits. The result of our efforts is an impressive body of creative work, which has combined to significantly increase awareness of the charity and help raise vital funds for this important cause.
